Introduction to DMARC Defender

DMARC Defender helps organization deploy and manage the email security protocol DMARC. DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) is designed to protect email domains from unauthorized use, such as phishing and spoofing attacks. By implementing DMARC, organizations can improve their email deliverability and enhance the overall security of their email communications.

DMARC is just a simple DNS record that domain owners publish in their DNS. It specifies how to handle unauthenticated emails.

DMARC Defender relies on the "rua" (Reporting URI for Aggregate Data) directive in the DMARC policy. When an email server receives a message from a domain with a DMARC policy, it checks the message against the DMARC rules. If the message fails the DMARC checks, the server generates an aggregate report detailing the authentication results and sends it to the specified "rua" email address.

DMARC Defender collects these aggregate reports, processes the data, and presents it in an easy-to-understand dashboard. This allows domain owners to monitor email traffic, identify unauthorized senders, and adjust their DMARC policies accordingly.
